This is one of our favourite courses to teach as it is probably the most fun and educational diving courses. Don’t take our word for it, speak to anyone who has done the course and they will say the same.

The PADI Rescue Diver course is an important step to becoming a better diver. You will learn a lot about other divers, but mainly about your self.

We will teach you how to prevent incidents from happening by anticipating them, how to deal with them and in case of an emergency, what to do and how to act correctly.

During the rescue course you will learn how to deal with stress, so it does not trigger panic. This is called “auto rescue”. In addition, we will train you to identify and prevent any problems that may happen during a day diving. 

We will practise stress management, auto rescue and rescue drills. They are all extremely useful and we will have great fun while we are practising them.

We will teach you a particularly important aspect of diving, how to manage dysbaric injuries, this is caused by a sudden change of pressure. Like, for example, lung overexpansion or decompression illness.  They are not common accidents, but it is especially important to know how to act quickly if it does happen.

You will also learn how to elaborate an emergency plan adapted to your day to day diving. 

We will also emphasise a few important things about your diving equipment. For example, how to maintain it, how to use it correctly to avoid accidents and the importance of not manipulating it.

In order to take part in the Rescue Diver course you must meet the following requirements:

• Have your Advanced Open Water diver license or equivalent
• Have an EFR certification or equivalent
• Be at least 12 years old
• Not have cardiorespiratory problems or serious health problems.
• Not have persistent problems with your ears
• Not be pregnant.
• Have diving insurance (If you do not have diving insurance we can arrange when you start the course)

Emergency First Response Course – necessary

In order to do the PADI Rescue course you must have completed an Emergency First Response course in the last two years and have the certification.

Emergency First Responder course (EFR)

The Emergency First Responder course is an internationally recognised Primary Care and Secondary Care (First Aid) course, which is also valid for diving.  In our opinion, it is a license that everybody should have and practise each year because it can save someone’s life, even a friend or family member.

We will teach you:

First Aid and basic life support.

Primary care CPR and how to use a semi-automatic defibrillator

Secondary care, bleeding management, antish-sock treatment, splints, how to apply bandages, how to treat burns and much more.

When you have finished the course, you will receive your Emergency First Responder license
